About the Role

Tarmac is seeking a highly skilled and experienced RAP Manager to join our team in the South West region. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for agreeing the RAP strategy with senior management and stakeholders, identifying opportunities to win planning work and contract negotiation, and delivering works to meet budgeted RAP demand.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a plan to deliver RAP services that meet customer and Tarmac requirements
  • Design, rollout, and report on KPIs and performance vs forecast and budget
  • Maintain close communication with external and internal customers to ensure excellent relationships
  • Review supply and demand and adjust the RAP strategy as required
  • Manage and promote close communication with the Logistic and Distribution team to optimize internal haulage
  • Ensure close communication with the Commercial team to ensure SAP routines are followed and prices, quotes, and jobs are correctly implemented
  • Coordinate Planings crushing program with the Operations Manager
  • Hold weekly RAP calls with units to review stocks and performance
  • Assess and plan resources to deliver the planning's recovery program
  • Ensure documentation is correctly completed and returned
  • Ensure out-of-hours work and immediate action drills are in place to manage unplanned events

Requirements

  • Experience in operations, asphalt supply, logistics, commercial, recycling, or environmental management
  • Proven ability to engage with a wide variety of stakeholders
  • Determination to optimize performance with a continuous improvement mindset
  • Confidence to overcome obstacles with flexibility and adaptability to manage conflicting demands
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively negotiate
  • Good IT skills, preferably including SAP
  • Safety awareness and knowledge of Asphalt Surfacing and Planing process
  • Strong logistical capability to deliver the strategy in the most cost-effective way, supporting interaction with both internal and external stakeholders
  • WAMITAB, EPOC, or equivalent environmental degree advantageous
