About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Head Teacher to join our team at a brilliant and rapidly-growing independent special school.

The school provides high-quality, individualised and small group learning for up to 40 pupils aged 7-16, with a focus on academic progress, social and emotional development, and students' needs at the heart of all work.

As a school leader, you will oversee the curriculum, design a dynamic and engaging curriculum aligned with therapeutic principles, and collaborate with the head teacher and other senior leaders to guide the school towards achieving outstanding criteria.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take responsibility for overseeing the curriculum and ensuring effective safeguarding practices
  • Design and implement a dynamic and engaging curriculum aligned with therapeutic principles
  • Collaborate with senior leaders to achieve outstanding criteria
  • Inspire confidence and serve as a role model for students and staff

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status
  • Experience working with special educational needs
  • Experience working within a curriculum leadership role
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of the SEN Code of Practice and its implementation
