Career Opportunity: We invite applications for the position of Programme Coordinator - Young Wales at Children in Wales. As a Programme Coordinator, you will play a key role in supporting the development and delivery of our Young Wales programme, which aims to give children and young people a voice in the decisions that affect their lives.

About the Job

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team and make a real difference to the lives of children and young people in Wales. The Programme Coordinator will work closely with our Development Officers to develop and implement strategies for the overall development of the Young Wales Programme, including supporting participation opportunities such as residentials and facilitating advisory boards on key policy areas.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities
  1. Support the development and implementation of strategies for the overall development of the Young Wales Programme.
  2. Engage with partners and networks to ensure that the Young Wales programme is accessible and inclusive of all young people in Wales.
  3. Plan and deliver the Young Wales residential and annual festival.
  4. Lead on projects or workstreams, providing guidance and expertise to the team.
  5. Produce bi-monthly newsletter-style communications for a wide audience in collaboration with the Communications Team.
  6. Provide administration duties for the Young Wales team, including booking travel and accommodation for events.
  7. Undertake recording, monitoring and evaluation tasks, and contribute to updates and reports required for Welsh Government officials.
  8. Assist with planning and co-facilitating sessions with young people, including direct contact with children and young people as required.
  9. Plan events, including drafting risk assessments.
  10. Carry out all of the above in accordance with the aims, values and strategic objectives of Children in Wales, with particular regard to the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) and Child Protection Policies.
