GI Specialist Nurse Practitioner

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced nurse to join our Upper GI Clinical Nurse Specialist Service at Kettering General Hospital. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality care and support to patients and families affected by upper GI cancers.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in gastroenterology and experience in working with cancer patients. You will be responsible for supporting patients and families throughout the cancer pathway, from referral to diagnosis and beyond.

As a Clinical Nurse Specialist, you will work closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure that patients receive the highest standard of care and support.
Key Responsibilities- Provide expert care and support to patients and families affected by upper GI cancers
- Work closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless care delivery
- Develop and implement care plans to meet the individual needs of patients
- Contribute to the development of clinical guidelines and policies
- Participate in education and training programs to enhance skills and knowledge
- NMC Registered Nurse
- Degree or equivalent in a relevant field
- Teaching qualification
- Masters degree or working towards
- Gastroenterology related qualification
- Previous experience in gastroenterology and cancer care
- Extensive knowledge of gastrointestinal illnesses and their management
- Previous experience of multidisciplinary team working
- Previous experience of teaching and education
- Knowledge of gastroenterology services and the needs of patients
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Critical analysis and decision-making skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
