About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Director to lead our primary care finance team in delivering an effective service to support managers and staff across commissioning. The post holder will work closely with stakeholders to ensure the delivery of high-quality, safe services in line with national and sub-national policy objectives.

The role requires someone with strong financial management skills, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. You will be responsible for overseeing primary care financial services provided to ICBs, ensuring sound financial systems are in place, and evaluating and monitoring services.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in financial governance, with subject matter expertise across key areas relating to financial management. They will also have CCAB or CIMA qualifications, with full up-to-date membership and continuing professional development.

Main Responsibilities
  • Lead the provision of an efficient, effective, and high-quality professional and well-coordinated finance service capable of meeting statutory, regulatory, and NHS requirements.
  • Manage the team's business function, including developing and managing the annual business plan, progress, and dashboard reporting, and risk and issue management.
  • Oversight and management of all aspects of the Primary Care budgets for the SW region and ICBs.
  • Take a lead in the coordination of training and development and recruitment activity across the Primary Care finance team.

We offer a competitive salary range of £70,000 - £90,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits.
