About the Role

The Liverpool Women's NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the position of Head of Governance. As a key member of the Trust's leadership team, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and direction to ensure effective governance mechanisms are in place within the corporate areas and divisions.

Main Responsibilities

  • Implement and sustain the Trust's quality governance programmes, including fulfilling the role of the Trust's Medical Devices Safety Officer (MDSO).
  • Coordinate and lead the Trust's risk and incident management, litigation, patient safety, and regulatory compliance functions within the divisions and corporate areas.
  • Work closely with senior managers and directors to plan and implement effective service developments, managing colleagues within the Quality Governance department.
  • Investigate and lead the learning responses for the Trust's most serious incidents, in line with the Patient Safety Incident Response Framework (PSIRF).
  • Ensure the long-term implementation of learning from safety alerts, audits, and incidents by establishing appropriate assurance mechanisms.

Job Requirements

  • Significant experience in quality governance in a healthcare setting.
  • Experience of delivering a Risk Management Strategy and associated trust-wide training.
  • Ability to demonstrate effective leadership and experience of managing staff and performance across multiple teams.
  • Experience of effective partnership working with multiple external agencies and stakeholders.
  • Ability to write and present reports at senior management and board level.
