Description

We are seeking a skilled Office Cargo Agent to join our team at Menzies Aviation. As an Office Cargo Agent, you will be responsible for examining manifests, bills of lading, and air waybills to determine work procedures for releasing cargo. You will also notify consignees or representatives of arrival dates, customs clearance requirements, and tonnage shipments. Additionally, you will make cash transactions, collect payments from customers, and authorize final approval for cargo release. You will also prepare invoices for charges, work with government agencies to clear shipments, and meet flights to exchange documents. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, one year of college or technical school, and six months of related cargo agent experience. You must be able to proficiently speak, read, and write in English, pass pre-employment testing, and obtain and maintain required airport and custom badges.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED
  • One year college certificate or technical school, six months related cargo agent experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Must be able to proficiently speak, read, and write in English
  • Must be able to pass all pre-employment testing to include drug testing and a physical
  • Must be able and flexible to work variable shifts including overtime, weekend, and holidays
  • Have/maintain current driver's license with no violations over the past 5 years
  • The ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
  • Dangerous goods awareness/acceptance knowledge
  • Previous customer service experience preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft products
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain all required Airports and Custom badges/seals
