Job Title: Transport Operations Supervisor

We are seeking an experienced Transport Operations Supervisor to oversee the daily operations at our Bolton Depot. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing driver and vehicle resources, ensuring timely delivery and collection of goods, and maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and plan driver and vehicle resources to achieve delivery and collection times.
  • Liaise with the shunting operation to ensure smooth pre-loading and unloading operations.
  • Plan runs according to shift pattern and available hours, taking into account holidays and sickness.
  • Ensure legal compliance regarding defects, services, MOTs, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Investigate incidents of fleet damage, RTIs, and HPNMs, and escalate to line managers as necessary.
  • Carry out disciplinary hearings, return to work meetings, and other HR-related tasks.
  • Ensure risk assessments are conducted at the depot and that all necessary actions are taken.

Requirements:

  • Significant knowledge and experience of tachograph and driving rules and regulations.
  • Planning and organizing skills, with a high level of numeracy.
  • Knowledge of Road Transport Directive and current drivers' hours.
  • Significant transport experience in FMCG environments.
