Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our Domestic Services team at Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining high standards of environmental cleanliness within our hospital.

The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic and be able to work independently as part of a team. Previous experience in the cleaning industry is beneficial, but not essential as comprehensive training and supervision will be provided.

Main Duties

  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness of floors, furniture, and fittings, as well as removal of marks from walls/partitions/doors etc.
  • Operate cleaning equipment, including electrical equipment, to achieve specified standards of cleanliness.
  • Handle refuse for disposal purposes.
  • Replenish supplies of paper hand towels, toilet tissue, soap, and hand moisturiser as required.
  • Monitor stocks of cleaning materials, refuse bags, toilet tissue, paper hand towels, hand soap, and hand moisturiser and request supplies as necessary.
  • Organise own day-to-day workload within work scheduling guidelines to ensure all cleaning tasks are completed to the set standard.
  • Complete documentation to record 'full clean' completed.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of specified cleaning methods and frequencies.
  • Communicate with Domestic Supervisors, patients, visitors, ward, and departmental staff to achieve specified standards of cleanliness.
  • Ensure compliance with Health Board and Departmental policies, procedures, and good practices.
