Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to join Talisman Therapeutics Limited as a Cell Culture Scientist. Our company is dedicated to developing and employing proprietary human stem cell models of neurodegenerative and neurological disease to advance the development of novel therapeutics.

About You

You will have a strong background in cell and molecular biology, with a focus on neurodegeneration and neuroinflammation. You will be responsible for managing cell culture production, undertaking quality control assessments, and working closely with the research team to support project delivery.

Responsibilities
  1. Cell Culture Management
  • Manage human iPSC lines
  • Generate different cell types from human iPSCs, including neurons and microglia, to meet project needs
  • Support project leaders with development and execution of cell-based assays
Quality Control
  • Undertake QC on iPSC lines
  • Maintain QC data records and reporting
  • Oversight of all QC on differentiated cells
Disease Model Development
  • Hands-on involvement in disease model development work
Requirements and Qualifications

An honours degree in the biological or physical sciences is essential. A Masters or PhD in a relevant field (or equivalent experience) is desirable. Essential skills include advanced cell culture skills and hands-on expertise in at least one of: molecular/cell biology, neuroscience, neurodegeneration, or inflammation research.

Compensation and Benefits

The role will be based at the Babraham Research Campus, Cambridge. We offer excellent compensation and benefits that reflect our commitment to employee wellbeing, including a 5-day week, Employee Share Option Scheme, non-contributory Life Assurance scheme, non-contributory BUPA Private Medical Insurance, and access to a cycle-purchase scheme. The estimated salary range for this position is £33,000-£40,000 per annum, depending on experience.
