Biomedical Scientist Position

Cambridge University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled Biomedical Scientist to join our dynamic Immunology laboratory. This 12-month fixed-term, full-time post offers an exciting opportunity to work in a busy and progressive UKAS 15189 accredited laboratory.
As part of our experienced scientific team, you will be responsible for analysing patient samples, working as part of a shift system covering Monday - Saturday 08:00 - 18:00. In return, we offer a variety of training and development opportunities, supported by our professional and knowledgeable scientific and clinical staff.
Our ideal candidate will be a state-registered Biomedical/Healthcare Scientist with experience in an NHS diagnostic laboratory. While practical experience in an Immunology laboratory is highly desirable, training will be given. Consideration may be given to applications from candidates nearing completion of their Registration Portfolio or students who need only to graduate to complete their registration.
Main Responsibilities
- Undertake testing and processing of biological specimens, analysis, and entering of results onto LIMS.
- The work of the service brings staff into constant contact with human body fluids, tissues, and hazardous chemicals.
The annual salary for this position is £30,000 - £40,000 per annum.
