Job Description:

We are seeking a Business Development Engineer to join our team on an extended Engineering & Commercial Internship, as part of our Rosyth base.

This is a unique opportunity to gain firsthand experience in being part of the Oceaneering team, suitable for a comfortable analyst and natural problem solver with strong influencing skills who can engage teams across all levels within the business.

Purpose:

The Business Development Engineer will be an integral part of the Engineering & Commercial functions and will work with the team to strengthen our competitive position by helping to commercialise our Dynamic Array Cables for Floating Offshore Wind.

Reporting to the Technical Solutions Manager, the Business Development Engineer will be a confident communicator, curious and keen to engage with all business functions to 'solve the unsolvable'.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Capturing customer requirements in client meetings
  • Checking, organising, and controlling client ITT documents. Managing tender bulletins, document reviews, clarification logs
  • Product Lifecycle Management Controls
  • Participate in design reviews and management of DR-2 records
  • Support the validation of product market fit
  • Schedule & Cost: Build / Maintain pre-qualification library (core & strategic)
  • Expedite support from all business functions / wider Oceaneering team
  • Extract, analyse, and present competitive insights from market analysis together with past projects / proposals
  • Risk: Design, develop and implement team SharePoint migration
  • Build out supplier / customer contract risk profile and management strategies
  • Optimise lessons learned forums and linkage
  • Interface and support other functions to enable a successful (safe, on time, with high quality and on budget) project execution

Safety:

Ensure that the Safety policies and procedures are understood and adhered to, so far as is reasonably practicable, in order to ensure a safe working environment.

Other:

Carry out work in accordance with the Company Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Systems.

Perform the assigned tasks with due diligence regarding the Integrated Management Systems on the Company.

Eliminate waste of whatever form, to suggest the use of more environmentally friendly substances and practices and contribute to the continuous improvement of the environment.

Requirements:

  • Must be currently enrolled in an accredited university pursuing either an Engineering or Business management degree or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Must have the legal right to work in the UK and live within a radius of our Rosyth base.

Desired Qualifications:

  • A keen interest in the upstream oil and gas and renewables sectors and a desire to learn more regarding commercial activities and manufacturing management practices within this sector.

Estimated Salary: £45,000 - £60,000 per annum, depending on experience
