Senior Internal Auditor

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Internal Auditor to join our team at Canada Life Group (UK) Ltd (The). As a key member of our Internal Audit function, you will play a critical role in ensuring the effectiveness of our governance, risk management, and control processes.
Key Responsibilities- Lead audit engagements, including risk assessment, audit work program design, and report drafting.
- Manage time and prioritize workload to deliver under pressure.
- Collaborate with the audit team and business contacts to discuss and resolve queries.
- Provide regular communication to the Internal Audit management team on audit progress.
- Maintain effective working relationships with audit clients throughout engagements.
- Lead or attend engagement closing meetings and agree recommendations.
- Follow up on previously reported issues to ensure corrective action has been taken.
- Applied knowledge and expertise in risk-based audit methodologies, tools, and techniques.
- Ability to work under pressure, taking responsibility for ensuring deadlines are met.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to persuade at all levels.
- Interpersonal skills to facilitate working in a small team and liaising with internal and external customers.
- Sound business and technical acumen, with the ability to navigate a complex organization effectively.
- Able to analyze complex business and technical situations, make informed decisions, and convince others to act.
- Applied knowledge and experience in using computer-assisted audit tools and techniques, internal audit management software, and relevant frameworks.
- Relevant work experience in a Big Four accounting firm or within a financial services company, with demonstrated working knowledge of governance, risk management, and internal controls.
- Applied knowledge and experience in internal audit and control frameworks, Enterprise Risk Management, and Solvency II Systems of Governance.
- Applied advanced knowledge and experience of project assurance methodologies and practices.
