We are recruiting for a Mental Health Practitioner to provide specialist mental healthcare to offenders across our portfolio of 19 prisons in the South of England.

About the Job

In this role, you will be responsible for providing high-quality mental healthcare to offenders, managing complex caseloads, and collaborating with community mental health teams to ensure continuity of care.

Your key duties will include:

  • Assessing and developing care plans for offenders with mental health conditions.
  • Delivering evidence-based interventions, including one-to-one and group-work facilitation.
  • Contributing to alternatives to inpatient admission and early discharge through high-intensity interventions and complex case management arrangements.

You will be expected to work closely with other healthcare professionals, maintain accurate electronic records, and adhere to relevant health and safety policies.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Diploma level/Degree in a relevant health/social care profession, such as RMN, RLDN OT, or Social Worker.
  • Current registration with the NMC or HCPC.
  • Post-registration training in areas such as Learning Disability, Personality Disorder, Substance Misuse/Dual Diagnosis, or Psychological Therapies.

We offer a competitive salary of £45,000 - £60,000 per annum, dependent on experience, and a range of benefits, including opportunities for professional development and flexible working hours.
