Estimating Manager

Affinity Water is seeking an experienced Estimating Manager to lead a team of cost engineers and data analysts in maintaining and applying asset cost capture processes and models. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and reliability of cost data, identifying inefficiencies, and implementing cost optimization strategies.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain cost engineering management systems to meet project requirements and quality standards.
- Support continuous improvement through cost engineering techniques and processes, identifying opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency gains.
- Monitor and review data to detect and assess challenges, making recommendations to resolve issues and ensure key performance indicators (KPIs) are met.
- Review and analyze economic trends, considering risks and cost implications.
- Utilize cost methodologies to prepare and maintain reliable and accurate data.
- Provide strategic information and reports to stakeholders as required.
- Manage and develop a high-performing cost estimating team, delivering best practice results and continuous improvements.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal performance.
- Collaborate with the Commercial and Procurement team to ensure strategies are maximized.
- Contribute to the creation and implementation of best practice, cost estimating vision, strategy, policies, processes, and procedures.
- Relevant degree qualification (or equivalent) in a field such as engineering, economics, or finance.
- Professional body membership or equivalent.
- Good level of experience in estimating within the water or utility industry.
- Highly skilled communicator with the ability to form and maintain good relationships internally and externally.
- Proven management skills with the ability to optimize team performance and development.
- Commercial and financial acumen.
- Highly developed analytical skills.
- Strong technical mindset and ability to read and interpret technical data.
- Highly numerate with the ability to research, assemble, and manage numerical information.
- Advanced knowledge of estimating strategies and techniques.
- Results-oriented and organized with the ability to plan and deliver against deadlines.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Basic salary £75,000 - £80,000.
- Level 2 Car Allowance £4300.
