Job Title: Estimating Manager

Affinity Water is seeking an experienced Estimating Manager to lead our estimating team and ensure the effective process of pre-tender estimation, asset cost capture, and scheme estimating.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of 5-7 to ensure the effective process of pre-tender estimation, asset cost capture, and scheme estimating.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal performance.
  • Collaborate with the Commercial and Procurement team to ensure strategies are maximised.
  • Manage, coach, and develop a high-performing cost estimating team that delivers best practice results, added value, and continuous improvements.
  • Contribute to the creation and implementation of best practice, cost estimating vision, strategy, policies, processes, and procedures.
Requirements:
  • Ideal degree qualification in a relevant subject.
  • Ideal professional body membership or equivalent.
  • Good level of experience of estimating within the water or utility industry.
Key Skills:
  • Highly skilled communicator with the ability to form and maintain good relationships internally and externally.
  • Proven management skills with the ability to optimise team performance and development.
  • Commercial and financial acumen.
  • Highly developed analytical skills.
  • Strong technical mindset and able to read and interpret technical data and translate to others.

  • Basic salary £75,000 - £80,000.
