Senior Residential Care Manager
Acedia Care Ltd is a specialist provider of bespoke solo residential homes for children and young people living with learning disabilities and/or additional complex needs. We are seeking a strong and capable Senior Residential Care Manager to take over the running of our solo home in Newcastle, which looks after 1 young person with learning disabilities and additional challenging and complex behaviours.
The successful candidate will inherit a diverse and hardworking team that has already borne fruit from relationship building with the young person and an extremely knowledgeable management structure for support. Acedia Care is born out of a desire to support those young people within the sector for which many other services just can't provide the support.
The Senior Residential Care Manager will lead, inspire, manage, direct, guide, and support both junior management and members of staff at the home through supervision, appraisal, and the delivery of in-house training while addressing any disciplinary issues that may arise. The Senior Residential Care Manager will monitor performance management systems to ensure the efficient administration of the home and that the interior, equipment, appliances, and grounds are maintained to the highest order in accordance with Health and Safety requirements.
The Senior Residential Care Manager will deal with complaints as outlined in the Home's complaints policy and liaise with Local Authorities, schools, health, and other professionals to achieve the best outcomes for the young person while actively promoting the Home's equal opportunity and anti-discriminatory practices and policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise junior management and care staff
- Ensure that all new staff receives a proper induction to the Home in line with company policy
- Ensure that each member of staff has a supervision contract and receives supervision in line with The Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015
- Promote personal and professional development through appropriate delegation of duties and responsibilities, leading by example
- Develop participation with young people in a meaningful way that promotes inclusion within the running of the home
- Be creative in promoting the health and wellbeing of young people
- Ensure that Regulation 44 visits are completed and the Regulation 44 reports are shared in a timely manner with all relevant agencies, including Ofsted and local authorities
- Receive training appropriate to the role and maintain an up-to-date training matrix
- Maintain knowledge of the statutory and procedural framework for residential care and communicate this to staff as appropriate
