Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist in Intellectual Disability Pathway

This is a 6 PA Consultant post in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry in the Intellectual Disability Pathway. The CAMHS-ID Pathway provides consultation, assessment, intervention, and care coordination for children and young people who require specialist Intellectual disability skills and knowledge due to moderate or severe, complex, and enduring difficulties.
In line with recent legislation and good practice guidance, the Bucks CAMHS-ID Pathway works with and alongside other Pathways in CAMHS to ensure that children with Intellectual disabilities have equal access to specialist CAMHS Services. The service is based on the 'Thrive Model' and is a partnership between Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust and Barnardos.
Key Responsibilities:- Carry medical responsibility for patients on their own caseload and that of medical staff under their care.
- Provide clinical leadership and collaborate in systems of supervision and care management within the teams.
- Work in conjunction with wider clinical leadership within the directorate, including Service managers, Head of Service, and Medical Lead/AMD within CAMHS.
- Liaise with Community Paediatricians, Adult Mental Health, and other agencies dealing with the same population.
- Support and develop Community Mental Health services for patients and their carers in the catchment area.
- 33 days annual leave (pro rata if part-time), plus bank holidays, with an increase to 35 days with 7 years of consultant service.
