Consultant in Psychiatry of Learning Disability

Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an exceptional Consultant in Psychiatry of Learning Disability to join our Aylesbury Community Mental Health Team. As a key member of our team, you will provide senior medical input and clinical leadership to the CMHT, ensuring high-quality care for patients with severe and enduring mental illness.
Key Responsibilities- Provide senior medical input and clinical leadership to the CMHT, ensuring effective management of patients with complex needs.
- Assess new routine referrals from other agencies, provide consultations to non-medical clinicians, and offer ongoing management for patients requiring longer-term care.
- Provide direct clinical supervision to trainees and specialty doctors, ensuring they receive high-quality training and support.
- Contribute to the collection of data as required by the Trust and other relevant agencies, ensuring accurate recording of clinical activity and participation in clinical audit.
- Attend regular directorate managerial meetings, including the Medical Advisory Committee and monthly Directorate/Managerial liaison meetings.
- Participate in the local training programme for junior doctors, ensuring they receive comprehensive training and support.
- Maintain a programme of training and CPD accreditation, ensuring you remain up-to-date with the latest clinical developments and best practices.
- Membership or Fellowship of the Royal College of Psychiatrists, or equivalent qualification.
- Approved clinician Status and section 12 (MHA) Approval.
- Full GMC registration with license to practice.
- Higher degree or equivalent in a relevant field of medical, psychological, or other studies.
- Experience of the full range of clinical responsibilities expected of a consultant in this specialty.
- Experience of close collaborative work with social care and other agencies.
