Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced SEN Support Assistant to join our team at Teaching Personnel. As a SEN Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with Special Educational Needs, including autism and other learning requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist students with their Educational Healthcare Plans (ECHPs) and monitor their progression.
  • Work with pupils in small groups or on a 1:1 basis to target individual learning needs.
  • Monitor pupil performance and communicate feedback with teaching staff, parents, and pupils.
  • Manage pupil behavior and ensure a safe learning environment.
  • Be fully aware of safeguarding procedures and handle situations appropriately.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with autism or other learning requirements.
  • Good understanding of Special Educational Needs and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
  • Ability to work with pupils in small groups or on a 1:1 basis.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
