We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Physician in Diabetes and Endocrinology to join our team at Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in Diabetes and Endocrinology, with experience in leading clinical teams and contributing to service development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality patient care, including diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients with diabetes and endocrine disorders.
  • Lead clinical teams, including consultants, registrars, and other healthcare professionals, to deliver high-quality patient care.
  • Contribute to the development of our Diabetes and Endocrinology services, including service redesign, quality improvement, and education.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary teams to deliver patient-centered care and improve health outcomes.
Requirements
  • MB ChB (or equivalent) and MRCP (or equivalent) qualifications.
  • Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians and higher degree such as MD or PhD.
  • Full registration with the GMC and licence to practice.
  • Experience in leading clinical teams and contributing to service development.

Teaching & Training Experience
  • Evidence of training & education (PGCE)
  • Evidence of delivery of education, both undergraduate and postgraduate
Knowledge
  • Good understanding of 'Good Medical Practice' from the GMC
Audit Experience
  • Proven track record in significant audit
  • Publication of audit results
Research Experience
  • Involvement in research
  • Publication of research
Managing Self
  • Ability to offer expert clinical opinion on clinical conditions of adult patients
  • Ability to advise on efficient and smooth running of the department of medicine for the elderly
  • Commitment to the highest standards in clinical care and service and personal development
Working with Others
  • Excellent communication and knowledge sharing, both within the multidisciplinary team and externally
  • Committed to improving the patient healthcare experience and improving Trust performance
