Risk Management Specialist

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Risk Management Specialist to join our team at Adler and Allan Group, a leading environmental, energy, and water infrastructure services provider in the UK. As a Risk Management Specialist - Environmental Governance, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the effective management of risks across our operations, ensuring compliance with internal governance procedures and fostering a culture of risk awareness and compliance.
About the Role:
The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing contractual agreements and terms and conditions, identifying commercial and legal risks, and ensuring that any submissions are compliant with internal governance procedures. You will also be involved in the production of reports on risk management and governance tracking, maintaining a thorough understanding of applicable legal and regulatory requirements, and promoting a culture of risk awareness and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reviewing contractual agreements and terms and conditions to identify commercial and legal risks
- Identifying contractual disputes in line with internal governance procedures
- Undertaking day-to-day risk management activities, including prioritisation, action planning, and monitoring
- Producing reports on risk management and governance tracking
- Ensuring compliance with internal governance procedures
- Maintaining a thorough understanding of applicable legal and regulatory requirements
- Promoting a culture of risk awareness and compliance
- Working with the wider commercial team to implement or negotiate mitigation measures to contractual risks
- Developing and implementing new risk management ways of working
- Maintaining, communicating, and reviewing risk registers and associated policies and processes
About You:
To be successful in this role, you will need to have experience drafting commercial terms and an understanding of pricing and legal terms. A good appreciation of risk and the application of the hierarchy of risk control is also essential. You should have a structured and comprehensive approach to risk management and knowledge and experience of ISO31000 is desirable. Additionally, legal competency (A level or above) and knowledge and experience of commercial risk management sanctioning are highly desirable.
