We are seeking a highly skilled Consultant Anaesthetist to join our dynamic team at King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Anaesthesia Department, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality anaesthesia services to patients undergoing general, major, and high-risk surgery.
About the RoleThis is a replacement Consultant post, and we are looking for a dynamic individual with broad interests in anaesthesia, including experience in regional, vascular, and/or trauma management. The postholder will have significant involvement in the delivery of emergency anaesthesia, both during daytime cover and as part of the general consultant on-call rota.
Key Responsibilities- Provide a high-quality anaesthesia service for patients undergoing general, major, and high-risk surgery.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of aspects of anaesthesia services, depending on your interests and experience.
- Work collaboratively with other Consultants and healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
- Participate in clinical governance initiatives, including audit and quality improvement projects.
- Contribute to the education and training of junior medical staff and other healthcare professionals.
- Engage in research and publication activities, as appropriate.

Person SpecificationWe are looking for a Consultant Anaesthetist with the following qualifications and experience:
- Registerable medical qualification.
- FRCA or equivalent.
- Full Registration with GMC and completed subspecialty training programme in anaesthesia.
- Eligible to apply for a Substantive Consultant post - CCT or within 6 months of completion.
- Wide experience in delivery of anaesthesia for general, major/high-risk surgery and trauma/cepod surgery.
- Award of CCT or equivalent.
