Job Title: Senior Principal Research Scientist - Data Analytics Lead
Job Summary:
Lifelancer is seeking a highly skilled Senior Principal Research Scientist - Data Analytics Lead to join our team. As a key member of our Research Analytics group, you will play a pivotal role in advancing our drug discovery and development efforts by applying advanced analytical techniques to derive insights from complex data sets.
This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the discovery and development of novel therapeutics in the areas of immunology and neurology, ultimately making a meaningful impact on patients' lives.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead Advanced Data Analytics Strategies: Design and implement advanced data analytical strategies to support drug discovery and development programs.
- Analyze Complex Data Sets: Analyze complex biological and chemical data sets to identify patterns, trends, and potential therapeutic targets and drug candidates.
- Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including medicinal chemistry, biology, computational chemistry, and bioinformatics, to drive decision-making throughout the drug discovery process.
- Develop Innovative Computational Approaches: Develop and apply innovative computational approaches to enhance data analysis and interpretation.
- Stay Up-to-Date with Industry Developments: Stay abreast of the latest developments in data science, bioinformatics, and machine learning and integrate relevant methodologies into research projects.
- Subject Matter Expert: Act as a subject matter expert in research analytics, providing guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
- Team Leadership: Manage 12 direct reports and set the team up for growth, strengthen our digital talent, and foster a culture of open-minded co-creation of innovative solutions with internal/external networks of partners.
- Education and Experience: Computational biology, bioinformatics, computer science, or a related field with a minimum of 8 years of relevant industry experience.
- Proven Track Record: Proven track record of applying advanced data analytical techniques to drug discovery and development projects.
- Expertise: Expertise in statistical analysis, machine learning, and data visualization.
- Programming Skills: Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, Jupyter, Scikit-learn, Spotfire, etc.
- Large-Scale Data Experience: Experience working with large-scale biological and chemical data sets (e.g., biologics sequencing, genomics, proteomics, high-throughput screening).
- Communication and Collaboration Skills: Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Biopharmaceutical Industry Experience: Prior experience in the biopharmaceutical industry is preferred.
