Slough, Slough, United Kingdom Slough Children First Full time
Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Child Protection Specialist to join our team at Slough Children First. As a Senior Social Worker, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of children and families in our community.

This is a challenging yet rewarding position that requires a deep understanding of child protection procedures, assessment processes, and legal frameworks. You will work closely with partner agencies and internal partners to develop effective relationships with children and their families.

The ideal candidate will possess significant postgraduate experience in social work, a professional social work degree or equivalent, and be registered with Social Work England. A current UK driving license and access to a vehicle for work purposes are also essential.

In this role, you will undertake assessments on children who have been sexually abused, as well as those who use sexually abusive behavior. You will work to prevent a cycle of being in and out of care, ensuring that each child receives the support and resources they need to thrive.

Your duties will include:

  • Undertaking social work on allocated cases, producing outcome-based plans that consider the needs and risks of children and their families.
  • Developing effective relationships with children and their families to improve the impact of your work and determine the level of service available.
  • Determining how needs will be met, subject to resources, statutory responsibilities, and council policies and procedures.
  • Participating in routine auditing activity to secure high standards of social work practice and record-keeping.
  • Ensuring the needs of service users from all communities are addressed, and equalities issues are considered in all aspects of your work.

You will also be responsible for completing financial assessments, determining contributions and levels of need/service, and maintaining accurate records of all work undertaken.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and dedicated individual to make a real difference in the lives of vulnerable children and families. If you are passionate about child protection and safeguarding, we encourage you to apply for this role.

Estimated salary: £43,643 - £52,796 per annum.
