Theatre Royal Plymouth, a registered charity in the Southwest, is looking for a skilled Youth Programme Coordinator to lead the development of high-quality projects for young people and the wider community.

About the Role

This key role will work closely with the Head of Artistic Planning, Projects to relaunch the youth theatre offer at TRP, ensuring that young people's voices contribute to the programme's shape. The coordinator will be responsible for delivering this work with young people and developing projects with strategic partners, including other theatre companies and local/national organisations.

As a key member of the team, you will manage creative projects in various settings, responding to needs and opportunities as they arise. Your primary objective will be to ensure project delivery on time, within budget, and meeting funding provider commitments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the operational management of projects, creating partnership agreements, resource management, and ensuring participant safety.
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues across departments to deliver quality outcomes and ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Maintain and develop artistic practice through workshop delivery and regular training opportunities.
  • Provide effective line management for staff and undertake project evaluation.
Requirements

We are seeking an experienced individual with substantial knowledge of youth theatre offers, successful freelance management, and effective working relationships with schools. A thorough understanding of the requirements for working with young people in a theatre setting is essential.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent project management skills, self-motivation, and attention to detail, with a commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes. They will have experience in using digital technology and social media as part of a communications strategy.
