Strategic Financial Partner and Investment Manager – Central Finance

Job Overview:

The Worcestershire County Council is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pensions Investment Manager and Finance Business Partner to join our Central Finance team. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in shaping the financial strategy of the council and ensuring the long-term sustainability of our pension fund.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead on Collection Fund and Business Rates Accounting for the local authority, building strong relationships with partners across Worcestershire.
  • Produce regular reports relating to the Pension Fund, including collating investment valuation and performance data.
  • Contribute significantly to the overall investment strategy of the Worcestershire County Council Pension Fund (WPF).
  • Review investment content for the Pension Fund Financial Statements and produce the Fund's Annual Report in conjunction with colleagues in Central Finance.
  • Attend LGPS Central meetings and deputise where necessary.
  • Liaise with partners to ensure the reporting of Responsible Investment and Environmental Social and Governance (ESG) issues relating to the Fund.

Requirements:

  • CCAB (or equivalent) qualified accountants/finance professionals.
  • Proactive approach focused on excellence, with a passion for putting customers at the heart of everything we do.
  • Courage to make constructive change as we redesign the way we work together with our clients, customers, and partners.
