Cyber Security Engineer Job Description

Embark on a challenging role as a Cyber Security Engineer with DHU Healthcare, a leading healthcare organization. As a key member of our Cyber Security Team, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the security and integrity of our technology infrastructure, systems, and processes.

Main Responsibilities
  • Lead in the remediation of non-compliance with security standards and protocols, ensuring timely responses to security audits and assessments.
  • Provide expert cyber security advice on multiple security tools, platforms, and systems, including O365, SharePoint, and national systems.
  • Conduct regular vulnerability scans, analyzing and reviewing threats and vulnerabilities, and presenting options for remediation.
  • Develop and implement local cyber policies and procedures, ensuring adherence to legislation and best practices.
  • Monitor security systems and respond to incidents, maintaining confidentiality and collaborating with external organizations as required.
  • Assist in ensuring new system procurements meet security requirements, making recommendations to address gaps or weaknesses.
  • Maintain a strong technical understanding of complex systems and security issues, including Active Directory, firewalls, and remote access systems.
  • Support the installation, upgrading, and maintenance of digital security systems, investigating and diagnosing complex security problems.
  • Manage digital threat assessments, security control reviews, and business risk assessments, ensuring the integrity of our digital assets.
Requirements
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent IT professional qualification, with specialist cyber related qualifications and experience.
  • Knowledge of digital best practice, information security, and information governance, with experience in security reviews and risk assessments.
  • Previous experience in managing cyber incidents, response, and actions, with project and change management skills.
  • Certified Ethical Hacker and ITIL Foundation, with knowledge of common technologies and the ability to convey complex technical issues to a non-technical audience.
  • Able to act as a change agent, committed to maintaining up-to-date knowledge of regulations and implementing new ones as required.
