About the Role

The NHS is seeking an experienced professional to fill the position of Information Governance Manager. This role is responsible for managing a team of staff delivering responses to requests made under Data Protection, Access to Health Records, and Freedom of Information Acts.

The successful candidate will be responsible for meeting deadlines by allocating and prioritizing workload to those working within the compliance function.

Main Duties:

  • Manage the Information Governance Team, ensuring all requests for data are received centrally, recorded, and processed in line with Trust/Data Protection Act/GDPR (DPA), Access to Health Records Act (AHRA) adhering to time limits and ensuring any applicable fees are reclaimed.
  • Deliver compliance with Freedom of Information and Environment Information Regulations requests, as well as delivering operational requirements, acting as a point of expertise and advice in relation to these work streams and responding accordingly.
  • Manage and monitor IG Team standards and performance, providing monthly activity reports to the Information Governance Manager, and ensuring the Information Governance Team information resources are kept up to date of all actions at all times.

About the Team:

The Information Governance Team supports staff to develop and grow within their roles.

Working for the Information Governance Team will expand your knowledge of various legislative requirements which will bring you in contact with a wide variety of staff operating in every aspect of delivery of the health service we provide.

Requirements:

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent.
  • Extensive knowledge, experience, and understanding of the Data Protection Act 2018, General Data Protection Regulation, Access to Health Records Act 1990, Freedom of Information Act.
  • Leadership skills demonstrating self-motivation and the ability to enthuse team members.
  • Must be IT literate and have good MS Windows skills to include Word and Excel.
  • NVQ in Administration or equivalent.
  • NHS IT Systems.
  • Ability to work under pressure to a high standard of output.
  • Minimum of 2 GCSEs which must include English and Mathematics or equivalent.
  • Freedom of Information ISEB Data Protection ISEB.
  • General understanding of Human Resources Policies & Procedures.
