About the Role

We are seeking a Registered Pharmacy Technician with a passion for patient and customer care to join our dedicated pharmacy team at The Boots Company PLC.

Your role will be to support Pharmacists in ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of pharmaceutical services, focusing on accuracy checking and overseeing the dispensing team.

You will be responsible for conducting final accuracy checks on dispensed medication, checking drug names and quantities match the label, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to deliver patient-centred care.

This role requires strong communication skills, digital knowledge, and the ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team. You must be registered on the GPhC register to be eligible for this position.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop their skills through training and continuous support from designated supervisors, ultimately becoming an expert in the supply of medicines and accuracy checking.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ordering medicines, checking, dispensing, and endorsing of prescriptions
  • Responsible for final accuracy check of dispensed items before they are supplied to the patient
  • Oversee the Dispensing Team Members when requested by the Responsible Pharmacist
  • Involved in preparation, supply, and checking of prescriptions, providing advice and support
  • Take medicine histories from patients and offer guidance on treatment options
  • Provide advice to patients and coach others to give advice about medicines and refer complex queries to the Pharmacist

The estimated salary for this role is around £25,000-£30,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
