Job Title: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (SEN Experience)

Salary: £22,961 - £34,496

MLK Education Search is seeking an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join a newly established independent school in Harmondsworth, West Drayton. The school caters to children aged 5-11 with severe learning difficulties and Autism.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and deliver engaging and enjoyable sessions to enhance learner engagement and motivation.
  • Create and implement Personalized Learning Plans (PLPs) for each student, tailored to their individual needs and abilities.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and parents to provide a comprehensive support system for students.
  • Track and document student progress and attendance, using data to inform instruction and make data-driven decisions.
  • Support learners in developing self-regulation skills, including emotional regulation and social skills.
  • Manage a specific pathway, providing direct line management for the associated classes and ensuring a smooth transition between lessons.
  • Collaborate closely with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to review and enhance the Quality of Education within the pathway, ensuring alignment with the school's vision and goals.
  • Oversee pastoral care and positive behavior strategies to boost engagement and learning within the pathway, promoting a positive and inclusive school culture.
Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated experience teaching SEN children, especially those with severe learning difficulties and autism, with a strong passion for working with this population.
  • Familiarity with the EQUALS curriculum is advantageous, as is experience with non-linear developmental assessment frameworks (e.g., Routes for Learning, SCERTS).
  • A strong ability to manage Teachers and Teaching Assistants, providing guidance and support to ensure a cohesive and effective team.
