Placement Support and Liaison Officer

We are seeking an experienced Placement Support and Liaison Officer to join our team in Barnsley. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for identifying suitable placements for children and young people coming into care. Your duties will include communicating with stakeholders, managing competing priorities, and ensuring prompt and accurate payments.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Secure Placements: Identify suitable placements for children and young people coming into care through collaboration with Social Care, Health colleagues, and providers of residential children's homes, fostering, and semi-independent accommodation.
  1. Manage Stakeholder Relationships: Liaise with stakeholders, including Social Care, Health colleagues, and providers of residential children's homes, fostering, and semi-independent accommodation, to ensure smooth communication and efficient processing of referrals.
  1. Process Referrals: Collaborate with Social Care and other stakeholders to process referrals for Looked After Children and Young people who require a placement.
  1. Sustain Effective Payment Systems: Ensure prompt and accurate payments to providers of residential children's homes, fostering, and semi-independent accommodation.

You will work closely with the lead commissioner for Children's placements to ensure that the needs of children and young people are met. Experience in children's services or direct work with children and families is essential. Demonstrable experience of digital payment or performance systems is also necessary. Enhanced DBS and public sector experience are preferred but not essential. The hourly rate for this role is £18.70, offering a competitive salary and excellent benefits package.
