About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Placement Support and Liaison Officer to join our team in Barnsley. This role offers a competitive hourly rate of £18.70.

Job Description
  • Identify Suitable Placements: Collaborate with Social Care, Health colleagues, and providers of residential children's homes, fostering, and semi-independent accommodation to secure placements for children and young people coming into care.
  • Communicate Effectively: Liaise with stakeholders, manage competing priorities, and ensure prompt and accurate payments.
  • Manage Priorities: Work in a demanding but rewarding environment, managing multiple tasks and ensuring that referrals for Looked After Children and Young people who require a placement are processed efficiently.
  • Process Referrals: Collaborate with Social Care and other stakeholders to process referrals for Looked After Children and Young people who require a placement.
  • Liaise with Providers: Secure suitable placements for children and young people by liaising with providers of residential children's homes, fostering, and semi-independent accommodation.
  • Work with the Lead Commissioner: Collaborate with the lead commissioner for Children's placements to ensure that the needs of children and young people are met.
  • Support New Providers: Help new providers in managing placement sufficiency and supporting quality assurance processes.
  • Process Contract Completion: Ensure that contracts are completed and compliance is maintained.
  • Monitor and Report Statistical Data: Monitor and report statistical data to inform decision-making.
  • Support Quality Assurance: Support quality assurance processes and payment systems.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in children's services or direct work with children and families. Demonstrable experience of digital payment or performance systems is also essential. The ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders is crucial in this role. Enhanced DBS and public sector experience are preferred but not essential.
