Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our multi-disciplinary forensic team in a medium secure service for males with learning disabilities and mental health needs.

Main Responsibilities
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for individuals with learning disabilities in a medium secure setting.
  • Provide high-quality, holistic nursing care to individuals with learning disabilities and their families/carers.
  • Coordinate and manage the ward for a span of duty, including meal preparation.
  • Assist in every aspect of the management of an inpatient ward, including accessing leave in the community.
  • Contribute to the development of forensic services for people with learning disabilities.
  • Lead shifts and work alongside nursing colleagues and the multidisciplinary team to maintain the safety and security of the medium secure service.
  • Participate in training and development of the service.
Requirements
  • Registered Nurse in Learning Disability and/or Mental Health.
  • Experience of working with people with learning disabilities.
  • Awareness of the Mental Health Act.
  • Experience of working in a forensic service (desirable).
