Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our multi-disciplinary forensic team. The successful candidate will have a passion for supporting individuals with learning disabilities and mental health needs, and will be committed to delivering high-quality, holistic care.

Main Responsibilities
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for individuals with learning disabilities and mental health needs.
  • Provide high-quality, holistic nursing care to individuals and their families/carers, using a collaborative and inclusive approach.
  • Coordinate and manage the ward for a span of duty, including meal preparation.
  • Assist in every aspect of the management of an inpatient ward, including accessing leave in the community.
  • Contribute to the development of forensic services for people with learning disabilities.
  • Lead shifts and work alongside nursing colleagues and wider MDT to maintain the safety and security of a medium secure service.
  • Participate in training and development of the service.
Requirements
  • Registered Nurse in Learning Disability and/or Mental Health.
  • Experience of working with people with learning disabilities and mental health needs.
  • Awareness of Mental Health Act.
