Job Opportunity: Support Worker for Complex Needs Child
A unique chance to work with a 7-year-old girl who has cerebral palsy and is a full-time wheelchair user. The family is seeking a waking night support worker to promote the child's holistic wellbeing in their family home.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with children, ideally those with cerebral palsy and/or epilepsy. The ability to follow care plans and risk assessments, as well as routine plans, is essential. The support worker will provide assistance with the child's care needs, including personal care, continence care, dressing, and undressing.
The role involves supporting the child's ongoing rehabilitation as set out by the treating therapists and professionals. The support worker will maintain a safe environment for the child in the home and during community-based activities. Confidentiality is paramount, and the support worker must adhere to Covid-19 guidelines and risk assessments.
Key Requirements:
- Experience of working with children, ideally with cerebral palsy and/or epilepsy
- Ability to follow care plans and risk assessments
- Excellent communication skills, including high standard of written and spoken English
- Proficient in record keeping
- Ability to provide flexibility with working times and hours
Working Hours: Waking Nights: 3 nights per week - 8pm – 8am. Monday – Friday days and nights - £17 per hour, Weekends - £19 per hour, Bank holidays: 1.5 times the usual weekday hourly rate.
