Integral UK is seeking a dedicated Site Safety Specialist to join our team in Pangbourne, Reading.

As a key member of the engineering department, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of all personnel on site. Your responsibilities will encompass managing safety protocols, issuing permits for various activities, and providing guidance to technical, facilities, and project teams.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct regular site inspections to monitor high and low-risk activities, collaborating with contractors, project managers, engineering staff, soft services personnel, and clients.
  • Issue permits electronically for various disciplines, including hot works, working at height, and excavations, ensuring continuous monitoring throughout the day.
  • Engage in safety conversations with individuals undertaking works on site, promoting a culture of safety awareness.
  • Review and comment on RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements) to ensure compliance with current legislation.
  • Contribute to the development of RAMS for engineering projects, demonstrating a thorough understanding of health and safety regulations.
  • Proactively identify potential hazards and implement corrective measures to mitigate risks.
  • Maintain accurate records of permits, inspections, and other relevant documentation.
  • Participate in audits of the site permit system and other BP facilities.
  • Stay abreast of industry best practices and regulatory updates in health and safety.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience within the Facilities Management (FM) industry.
  • Proven experience in issuing permits and reviewing RAMS.
  • IOSH or equivalent Health and Safety training.
  • Desirable qualifications include IPAF and PASMA certifications.
  • Proficiency in IT skills, including MS Office and online portals.
  • Strong understanding of engineering and facilities management principles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
