Role Overview

The Maintenance Technician role at Frasers Group is a critical position responsible for ensuring the uptime and availability of automated equipment on-site. This professional will provide site-based engineering support to minimize downtime and maximize equipment performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on all onsite automated equipment.
  • Carry out planned repairs and reactive repairs of automated material handling equipment.
  • Conduct fault-finding and diagnosis of mechanical and/or electrical faults.
  • Respond to automation faults and breakdowns in a timely manner, ensuring minimal downtime.
  • Prioritize system faults and optimize the uptime and availability of onsite automated equipment.
  • Complete all reports in line with requirements using CMMS and Microsoft software packages.
  • Comply with health and safety legislation as a top priority focus.
  • Participate in the delivery, installation, commissioning, and testing of upgrades and enhancements.
  • Maintain optimum levels of onsite spare parts.
  • Support site meetings as required.
  • Mentor, train, and advise junior members of the team.

Requirements

  • A recognized Engineering Apprenticeship, ONC, or equivalent qualification in an engineering discipline (multiskilled preferable).
  • Experience of working with automated material handling systems.
  • Ability to work at height.
  • Capable of understanding Mechanical, Electrical, and/or Electronic technical manuals and drawings.
  • Proven competence in H&S.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic understanding of control systems and techniques.
  • Ability to work in a time-critical environment.
  • Effective time and workload management skills.
  • PC literacy and working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
