Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at Frasers Group. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for providing site-based engineering support to minimize downtime and ensure uptime of our automated equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out preventative and corrective maintenance and repair of all onsite automated equipment.
  • Perform planned repairs and reactive repairs of automated material handling equipment, including tote conveyors, spiral conveyors, sorters, shuttles, and robotics.
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical and/or electrical faults.
  • Respond to automation faults and breakdowns in a timely manner to minimize downtime.
  • Prioritize system faults and optimize uptime and availability of onsite automated equipment.
  • Complete all reports in line with requirements using CMMS and Microsoft software packages.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation.
  • Participate in the delivery, installation, commissioning, and testing of upgrades and enhancements.
  • Maintain optimum levels of onsite spare parts.
  • Support site meetings as required.
  • Mentor, train, and advise junior members of the team.

Requirements

  • Recognized engineering apprenticeship, ONC, or equivalent qualification in an engineering discipline.
  • Experience working with automated material handling systems.
  • Ability to work at height.
  • Capable of understanding mechanical, electrical, and/or electronic technical manuals and drawings.
  • Proven competence in H&S.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic understanding of control systems and techniques.
  • Ability to work in a time-critical environment.
  • Effective time and workload management skills.
  • PC literacy and working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
