Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced SEN Teacher to join our dedicated team at Prospero Teaching in the London Borough of Lewisham. This is an exciting opportunity for a professional with a strong commitment to supporting and empowering students with special educational needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Tailored Education Provision: Design, adapt, and deliver lessons tailored to the unique learning needs of students with a range of SEN, including ASD, ADHD, and other complex needs.
  • Individualized Support Plans: Create and implement individualized education plans (IEPs), setting realistic but ambitious targets to support each student's development.
  • Collaborative Working: Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and other support staff to ensure a holistic approach to each student's learning and personal development.
  • Continuous Professional Development: Stay informed of best practices and new SEN teaching strategies, participating in relevant training and workshops to enhance your professional skill set.
  • Parental Engagement: Maintain positive and open communication with parents and guardians, providing regular updates on their child's progress and collaborating on goals.
Requirements
  • Experience: Previous experience working in an SEN setting, with a track record of adapting teaching for diverse needs and demonstrating patience, creativity, and empathy.
  • Skills: Strong understanding of SEN teaching strategies, particularly for ASD, ADHD, and other complex needs; A genuine dedication to improving educational outcomes for students with SEN, fostering their independence and self-confidence.
