Job Title: Supportive Learning Facilitator

Meldreth, Cambridgeshire/ Hertfordshire is the location for this role.

Salary:

£20,941.63 - £22,834.95 per annum (pro-rata), depending on experience and qualifications.

We estimate an annual salary of approximately £21,388 based on average UK data.

Role Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Supportive Learning Facilitator to support students with complex learning difficulties, often associated with profound physical disabilities and/or medical needs in our specialist school.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized support to students, promoting their learning and development across various curriculum areas.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to develop and implement personalized education plans that cater to the unique needs of students with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD).
  • Foster a positive and inclusive environment that respects the rights and dignity of all students, recognizing their potential and abilities beyond their disabilities.
  • Prioritize student empowerment and support, working closely with them to achieve their educational and personal goals.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance knowledge and skills in Special Education, aligning with the values and principles of Aurora.
Key Skills and Qualifications
  • Hold at least Level 2 / C grade (or equivalent) Maths and English.
  • Demonstrate a genuine passion for supporting children and young people with additional needs.
  • Show ambition and determination to overcome barriers to learning, striving for excellence in all aspects of the role.
  • Emphasize the importance of outdoor and community-based learning experiences that promote holistic growth and development.
  • Cultivate a vision that recognizes the potential of every student, rather than focusing solely on their disability.
  • Commit to safeguarding practices and procedures, ensuring a safe and secure environment for all students.
