Children's Clinical Support Worker/Carer Position

About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team at Swanton Care & Community Ltd. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to children with complex medical needs.
Main Responsibilities
- Provide personal care and support to children with complex medical needs
- Assist with daily living tasks, such as bathing, dressing, and feeding
- Support children with their medical needs, including administering medication and monitoring health conditions
- Develop and maintain relationships with children, their families, and other professionals
- Contribute to a safe and supportive environment that promotes the well-being and independence of children
Requirements
- Qualified to NVQ level 2 in Health and Social Care
- NVQ Level 3 diploma or relevant qualification or willingness to complete relevant qualification within time frame
- Good standard of general education
- Excellent skills
- Safeguarding qualification
Desirable
- Experience supporting children in a children's home
- Effective communicator both verbally and written
- Knowledge/experience of children who have complex needs relevant to service
- Displays initiative and approach-ability
- Displays sensitivity and awareness to multicultural issues
- Have knowledge of current legislation
- To have the ability to coordinate a shift and prioritize care needs
- To work under own initiative
- To have the ability to coordinate and manage unexpected situations
- Demonstrate an ability to overcome difficult situations, setbacks and pressure and a willingness to get things done
- Able to work on own initiative and as a team member
- Have a positive approach to behaviors that could present challenges
- Driver of minibus
