Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Budget Controller to join our team at the Local Authority. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for managing the Council's finances and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.

Main Responsibilities

  1. Prepare and manage the Council's budget to ensure effective financial planning and management.
  2. Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with financial regulations.
  3. Analyse financial data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  4. Provide financial guidance and support to senior managers and councillors.
  5. Monitor and control expenditures to ensure they align with the Council's budget.

Requirements

  • Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) qualification or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in budgeting and financial planning.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Benefits
