Job Title: Financial Planning and Control Specialist

About the Role:

  • Support and advise directors and senior managers on financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and year-end reporting.
  • Manage commercial financial services to schools, ensuring effective budget planning and adherence to financial management standards.
  • Develop and sustain the medium-term financial strategy, annual budgeting, financial performance monitoring, and year-end reporting.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Deliver professional advisory, management accounting, and financial reporting functions to meet high customer satisfaction standards.
  2. Oversee the development and implementation of financial systems, providing training and coaching to senior management and service budget managers.
  3. Foster a culture of innovation and well-managed risk-taking to provide public value while being responsive to stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in financial management, preferably in a local authority or similar setting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
