About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Principal Modelling and Simulation Engineer to join our Simulation, Dynamics and Control capability group at Stirling Dynamics.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deploy methodologies in the areas of multi-system models, actuator control, motor control, dynamic loads, aeroelastics, and aerodynamics.
  • Lead technical projects and manage the tasks and workload of other project engineers.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior team members.
  • Support the development and growth of the business by working with other engineers and the Capability group Technical Manager.
Requirements
  • Minimum 10 years of industrial experience in the aerospace and/or marine industries.
  • Hands-on modelling experience covering areas such as hydro-actuated systems, electro-mechanical actuated systems, multi-body simulation, vehicle dynamics, systems engineering, flight dynamics, aeroelastics, flight controls, dynamic loads, real-time models, CFD, aerodynamics, motor control, vehicle control, actuation systems, ARP4754, DO178, DO254, and DO331.
  • Strong knowledge of modelling toolsets, including Matlab/Simulink, Ansys, Nastran, ADAMS, Amesim, and Siemens Simcenter Motion.
  • Experience in a consultancy and line management.
