Overview

Stirling Dynamics is seeking a highly skilled Principal Modelling and Simulation Engineer to join our Simulation, Dynamics and Control capability group. With a strong focus on delivering high-quality modelling and simulation solutions, this role will play a key part in driving the growth and success of our business.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the development of models at vehicle level, system level, and equipment level. This will involve working closely with other engineers and the Capability group Technical Manager to develop and deploy methodologies in areas such as multi-system models, actuator control, motor control, dynamic loads, aeroelastics, and aerodynamics.

As a principal engineer, you will offer technical leadership on projects, including task definition, and act in a supervisory role to more junior members of the team. You will also be responsible for managing the tasks and workload of other project engineers, ensuring the quality of technical output while maintaining time and cost constraints.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a minimum of 10 years' industrial experience developing and using models for analysis. You will also need to have a strong understanding of modelling toolsets, including Matlab/Simulink, Ansys, Nastran, ADAMS, Amesim, and Siemens Simcenter Motion.

Experience in a similar role, including technical project leadership, line management, and consultancy experience, is essential. You will also need to have a good understanding of systems engineering, flight dynamics, and aeroelastics.
