The Powys Teaching Health Board is seeking an experienced Clinical Pharmacist to join our team in North Powys. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain invaluable experience as a clinical pharmacist with the option of studying for a Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy, if desired. The post is a permanent position, up to full-time hours and can be flexible in terms of base location within North Powys.

Main Duties of the Job

The role will involve providing Medicines Management support to designated community hospital wards and departments and community teams. This may include reviewing patients in their own homes. There is also a unique opportunity to support the implementation of Electronic Prescribing and Medicines Administration (ePMA) at PTHB.

We are looking for a highly motivated and proactive individual who can work as part of a team to provide high-quality patient care and operational efficiency. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and clinical skills, with the ability to manage professionally challenging conversations and situations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide Medicines Management support to designated community hospital wards and departments and community teams
  • Support the implementation of Electronic Prescribing and Medicines Administration (ePMA) at PTHB
  • Work as part of a team to provide high-quality patient care and operational efficiency

Requirements:

  • GPhC registered pharmacist or undertaking pre-registration training where registration must be in place before starting the position
  • Master's degree (MPharm) or equivalent BPharm or BSc in Pharmacy, and highly developed specialist knowledge
  • Excellent understanding of pharmacy/medicines standards, legal requirements and guidelines
