Production Team Leader

As a Production Team Leader at The Sherwin-Williams Company, you will be responsible for managing shifts and overseeing the performance reviews and training development of the team.
Key responsibilities include:
- Ensuring the enforcement of safe systems of work and holding team members accountable for their health and safety performance.
- Providing a safe working environment and ensuring all employees/contractors are provided with and wear the appropriate personal protective equipment.
- Ensuring employees are adequately informed, instructed, trained, and supervised to safely carry out their work.
- Managing the Production operations to ensure efficiency and the production schedule is achieved.
- Deploying and supervising team members effectively.
- Monitoring operating standards and initiating necessary changes.
- Reducing operator 'dead time' and initiating possible reductions.
- Empowering team members to take responsibility and actively involving them in communication and improvement initiatives.
- Covering out-of-hours duties and providing support in the absence of other Team Leaders or Supervisors.
- Developing and communicating recommendations to management.
- Resolving day-to-day problems.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
- Managing lineside KPIs and ensuring teams deliver against them.
- Conducting regular reviews to assess team member performance and managing underperformance.
- Managing attendance and performance issues in line with company policies.
- Ensuring full compliance and stock accuracy for all system-related transactions.
- Managing 5S, housekeeping, tools, and TPM for the area.
- Requiring previous supervisory experience and/or qualifications.
- Having Microsoft Office application competency.
- Being educated to a high school standard or equivalent.
- Exhibiting inspirational and strong leadership qualities.
- Having excellent interpersonal, influencing, coaching, and negotiating skills.
- Having a proven track record in managing change within a diverse environment.
- Being an articulate communicator, both written and verbal.
- Being able to effectively build and manage relationships.
- Having enthusiasm and patience to develop others.
- Valuing strong teamwork.
- Being numerically astute with the ability to analyze data and drive action.
- Having a professional and positive attitude with a high standard of work ethics.
