About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Machine Operator Laminator to join our team at SkillsHouse Bradford. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for operating our laminating machine to produce high-quality solid board sheets for food packaging companies.

Main Responsibilities


• Operate the laminating machine to produce solid board sheets to specified quality standards.

• Maintain the glue system and keep the machine clean.

• Safely load laminating reels into reel stations and monitor changeovers, preparation, splicing, and reel alignment.

• Ensure laminating quality meets the highest standards of accuracy, size, and flatness required for converting.

• Clean the machine between orders and at the end of each day, including rollers, glue section, waste skips, and reel stations.

• Monitor and fine-tune machine running speeds to maintain efficiencies and achieve targets and customer deliveries.

• Coordinate with Team Leaders and the planning team to maximize reel changeovers and output.

• Provide feedback to engineering teams to minimize machine downtime and maximize running time and output.

• Perform weekly routine maintenance, cleaning down the machine to maintain high BRC standards, and work with the engineering team to grease and replace worn parts.

• Learn and operate other process lines and machines, such as folder gluers, die cutters, and printers, as part of the company's training and development plans.

• Excellent attention to detail is essential.

• Laminating experience is required.

• Quality-focused to produce top-quality board.

• KPI-focused to deliver required outputs for customers.

• Experience within the packaging industry is desirable.

• Machine operating experience is desirable.

• Forklift driving is advantageous due to multi-skilled work available.
