Job Overview
We are SkillsHouse Bradford, a leading manufacturer of circular packaging and sustainable solid board solutions. As a Machine Operator Laminator, you will play a crucial role in our production process, ensuring the highest quality standards are met.
Main Responsibilities
- Operate our Laminating machine to produce solid board sheets for food packaging companies, adhering to strict quality standards.
- Mix glue and maintain the glue system for the laminating machine, ensuring cleanliness and efficiency.
- Load laminating reels into reel stations, monitoring changeovers, preparation, splicing, and reel alignment to optimize production.
- Ensure laminating quality meets the highest standards of accuracy, size, and flatness required for converting.
- Clean the machine between orders and at the end of each day, including rollers, glue section, waste skips, and reel stations.
- Monitor and fine-tune machine running speeds to maintain efficiency and achieve targets.
- Coordinate with the production team to maximize reel changeovers and output.
- Provide feedback to the engineering team to minimize machine downtime and maximize running time.
- Perform weekly routine maintenance, cleaning the machine to maintain high BRC standards, and work with the engineering team to grease and replace worn parts.
- Learn and operate other process lines and machines, such as folder gluers, die cutters, and printers, as part of our training and development plans.
Requirements
- Level 2 qualification or equivalent.
- Excellent attention to detail and laminating experience.
- Team player with a focus on quality and KPIs.
- Desirable: experience in the packaging industry, machine operating experience, and forklift driving skills.
